How much is an FFL transfer?
Transfers are $25 for non-NFA firearms and $50 for NFA items. Maryland adds a $10 background-check fee for non-NFA guns, and NFA items have a $25 ATF paperwork fee; those are separate from our fee. Guns bought directly from JCMArmory.com transfer free (government fees still apply).
Can I ship a gun I bought elsewhere to you?
Yes. Any FFL can ship to JCM Armory for your background check and transfer. The seller just needs our FFL license, sent with the gun or emailed to [email protected]. Please contact us before you order so we can confirm details.
Where are you located? Do you have a range?
We are a home-based FFL (not a brick-and-mortar store) at 510 Haverhill Rd, Joppatowne (Joppa), MD 21085, phone (410) 419-9896. We do not have a shooting range.
What do I need to buy a handgun in Maryland?
Most buyers need a Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL). Then complete the MSP 77R Application to Purchase a Regulated Firearm in the State Police Licensing Portal and bring us your application number and PIN. There is a 7-day waiting period from when MSP receives the 77R. After approval you complete ATF Form 4473 with us. Maryland generally allows one regulated firearm every 30 days. Do I need an HQL to buy a rifle?
Generally no; the HQL applies to handguns. Some rifles are regulated firearms and need a 77R, so ask us about the specific model.
Is this gun legal in Maryland?
Handguns must be on the Maryland Handgun Roster. Maryland also bans many semi-automatic rifles it defines as assault weapons and magazines over 10 rounds; centerfire rifles must be at least 29" overall. Starting January 1, 2027, Maryland bans sale and transfer of "machine gun convertible pistols" (many striker-fired pistols such as most Glocks). For orders from us shipping to Maryland, we verify MD legality before confirming. Always check the official MSP resources.

Do you ship to California?
No. We do not sell or ship to California.
What if an item sells out after I order?
We honor the first funded order. If we run out of stock we cancel your order and refund your money. Items are only held for credit card or ACH payments.
How do guns ship to me?
Firearms ship to an FFL (us or your local dealer), where you complete the transfer. If you order a gun to Maryland that is not MD-legal, we cancel it before it ships. For other states, check your own state law first: a gun refused by your FFL has to be returned at your expense and may carry a restocking fee.
Will this part fit my gun?

How do I buy a suppressor?
Suppressors are NFA items. Dealer-to-dealer moves use ATF Form 3, and your purchase uses ATF Form 4 with fingerprints and photo. NFA transfers with us are $50 plus a $25 ATF paperwork fee. Note: Maryland rifles must still be 29" overall even with a tax stamp.
What is your return policy?
Inspect your new firearm before taking transfer at your FFL. If you are not satisfied with its appearance or function, do not take transfer and notify us right away for a replacement or refund. After transfer, defects go to the manufacturer's warranty. Ordering an item not legal for you can carry a 40% stocking fee.
How old do I have to be?
You must be at least 18 to buy anything from JCM Armory, and you must meet the legal age for the item (for example, 21 for handguns and an HQL in Maryland). We may ask for state ID before shipping.
