Description
SK Pistol Match Special is a .22 LR competition load built specifically for the shorter barrels and the unique demands of rimfire pistols. Each round pairs a 40-grain lead round nose (LRN) bullet with a brass case and an SK-tuned load that delivers dependable velocity and precision where handgun-length barrels typically give it up. The payoff is a match-grade cartridge that holds its own in serious training and competition without the premium price of top-tier rifle match ammo.
Because muzzle velocity in rimfire is dependent on the barrel length SK publishes two figures for this load. The first figure is roughly 955 fps out of a 5.9-inch barrel and the second is about 938 fps out of a 4.7-inch barrel with muzzle energy near 81 ft-lb. That consistency across shorter barrels is the whole point of the “Pistol Match” designation. It is designed manufactured and tested to the same exacting standards as SK’s rifle ammunition and is then optimized for the pistol platform. For shooters running bullseye Olympic-style or any handgun discipline where a repeatable point of impact matters more than raw speed it translates directly into tighter groups.
The 40-grain LRN projectile and brass case are a familiar combination for rimfire target work.
This is a boxed non-reloadable load with a lead projectile. Whether you are a developing amateur that?s working on fundamentals or a seasoned competitor chasing consistency they slot easily into a regular practice or match rotation.
