Phoenix, Tucson, Mesa, Flagstaff, Yuma, Prescott or the high desert in between, Arizona shooters can order from JCM Armory and pick up at a dealer close to home. We’re a federally licensed firearms dealer (FFL) in Joppa, Maryland, shipping firearms to local FFLs in 49 states (we do not ship to California).

How buying a gun online works in Arizona

  1. Pick your firearm and your dealer. Add the gun to your cart and choose a licensed Arizona dealer at checkout. Arizona has a large number of FFLs, including many smaller and home-based dealers; confirm fees and hours before choosing.
  2. We ship to your FFL. Once your dealer’s license is on file, we ship the firearm directly to them. Firearms are never shipped to a home address.
  3. NICS check and pickup. Bring ID and complete ATF Form 4473; your dealer runs the FBI NICS check. A valid Arizona concealed weapons permit may qualify as an alternative to the NICS check under ATF rules; your dealer will tell you how they handle it.

What to know about firearm transfers in Arizona

Federal dealer age limits apply: at least 21 for a handgun and at least 18 for a rifle or shotgun. Arizona is not a “point of contact” state, so dealers run background checks directly through the FBI’s NICS system.

Arizona has no state permit-to-purchase or firearm registration, and state law (A.R.S. 13-3108) generally bars cities and counties from regulating the sale, transfer or ownership of firearms. The Arizona concealed weapons permit is optional.

Winter visitors and part-time residents. Federal rules treat a person with homes in two states as a resident of the state where they’re living at the time. If you spend the winter in Arizona, you may be able to buy a handgun here during that time with proper proof of your Arizona residence. Ask your dealer what documents they need. Arizona has also allowed permitless carry for eligible adults since 2010, and the optional concealed weapons permit remains useful for traveling.

Buyers are responsible for knowing and following federal, state and local law. Laws change, so confirm anything specific with your Arizona dealer. This page is general information, not legal advice. Last reviewed: October 2026.

What Arizona customers shop for

Arizona big-game tags are mostly issued by draw through the Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD). Check AZGFD’s current regulations and draw dates before you hunt.

Before you order in Arizona

Arizona elk, pronghorn and Coues whitetail tags are handed out through the Arizona Game and Fish Department draw, so if you were drawn, order your rifle as soon as results post to leave time for shipping and sighting in. Buyers in Phoenix, Tucson, Mesa, Flagstaff, Prescott and Yuma have plenty of dealers to choose from, while buyers on the Mogollon Rim or along the Colorado River may want to call ahead about hours. Summer heat in the Valley can make doorstep deliveries of optics and accessories uncomfortable, so pick a delivery address where someone can bring the box inside. Arizona has no state waiting period, so once your dealer’s NICS check comes back proceed, you can usually leave with the firearm that day.
